Camp Sponsorship Program - The Hope Project
At Camp Roblealto in Costa Rica, we are proud to be actively working and making a difference in the local community, and bringing hope to high-risk communities through Christian Camping! The Hope Project initiative is a special program through Campamento Roblealto, created to offer a camp experience to children living in extreme poverty and high – risk social conditions in Costa Rica. For these kids, obtaining the money for bus fare, clothes, and even food is generally a luxury. The communities these children come from have high rates of violence, crime, drug-use, and sexual abuse. Time at camp offers a light of hope, the message of Christ’s love, and models of integrity through our trained team of leaders.
This program offers the opportunity to adopt a Hope Project camp and sponsor a group of kids to participate from a chosen high-risk community. You have the following options:
- Option 1: Sponsor a Hope Project camp and send a small team to participate in the camp first-hand. The number of participants could be from 2 – 10.
- Option 2: Sponsor a Hope Project camp and bring a larger group to serve and participate in the camp first-hand. The number of participants could be from 11 – 50.
We run Hope Project camps with between 25 - 30 kids/teenagers. The current cost to send 30 kids to camp is $94.00 per camper for 3 days and 2 nights.
Length of Stay: 7 – 10 Days
Age Range: All Ages Welcome! (Teenager and above)
Time of Year: February - June and August - November
Quantity of Participants: 2 – 10 and 11 - 50
Other Information: The Hope Project Camp is usually 3 – 4 days. We recommend that participants come for at least 7 days, to take advantage of the time in Costa Rica and such a long trip. In this case, you can make this a combination Hope Project and General Camp Service trip, serving in the Hope Project camp and later in the general service ministry of Camp Roblealto.
