As we begin 2025, on behalf of myself, the Gracia Missions Board of Directors and our incredible team on the ground in Latin America, we want to say thank you! Your support, prayers and ongoing care for Gracia Missions and the communities and people we serve is an incredible blessing.
There is always uncertainty as a new year begins–what the future holds and what God has in store for us. But we are optimistic as we look ahead. We as a team believe that you are a key part of our support team for a reason and that God will continue to use all of us in special ways. That Belief and Hope in Jesus is comforting for us as a team and Hope is what we will continue to strive to bring to those who need it most! God bless you and your families in 2025, we are incredibly grateful for your presence in our lives and ministry. Individual Giving Statements for 2024 will be sent via e-mail in the next 2-3 weeks. We are very excited to have Six Hope Project camps and Hope Initiative Community Follow-Up events planned for 2025! We hope to schedule 5 – 6 more before year end. (This is the largest number of camps in one year that we have ever had!) We will also be joined this year by four volunteer teams from the U.S. to assist us in running programs! (That is also the largest number of groups since before covid). To help fund the additional camps, a special gift is always welcome at any time - $119.00 will sponsor 1 individual (Child, Teenager, Single-Mother, Family, Individual in Addiction Recovery) to participate in our Camp and Follow-Up Programs. We look forward to walking with you and bringing hope together to the people of Costa Rica in 2025!

We were blessed to welcome 5 famlies from the community of Guarari, Heredia, Costa Rica! The camp was in partnership with our long-term ministry partner Smiles With Hope and Director Hugo Salas. This is the first family camp with the community of Guarari since during the heart of the COVID-19 Pandemic. We have worked with this community since the inception of the Hope Project in 2013. The families that attended were with us for the first time and left with full hearts, open to the message of Eternal Hope!

We ask for your support from a distance, with thoughts and prayers for Gracia Missions and our team today through Sunday. This evening we will be receiving 7 families at Camp Roblealto for a weekend camp. The families consist of single mothers and children, who are currently in a special government placement/protection facility, due to threat of domestic abuse and violence.
This will be the first Hope Project Family Camp since the COVID-19 pandemic. There are many risks involved with this group of young mothers and children. As an organization, we have specific protocal in place for their protection. On-site will be our partner doctor, who has served with us since the beginning of Hope Project eleven years ago. As well, we will have other professionals to assist such as psychologists and child-service experts. Due to the elevated level of risk and need for protection, we will be unble to share photos and video, but will keep you posted in other ways. *As a reminder, we are now more than 1/2 the way through 2024. We have camps scheduled for this month September, how we are in need of assistance for November and December. Will you help accomplish a goal of hosting at least 1 camp per month until the end of the year? Our work is focused on providing a life-changing experience to kids, teenagers, families, and those recovering from drug/alcohol addiction through camp and community follow-up. The primary goal is to provide hope; internally, personally and eternally.
Thanks to you, in July we welcomed 30 children (boys & girls) ages 10 - 11 in partnership with Campamento Roblealto, in the mountains of Heredia, Costa Rica. The children came from the high-risk community of Los Guido, Desemparados, Costa Rica.They spent 3 days and 2 nights at camp, with our amazing team of leaders, volunteers, food service providers and on-site doctor. Seeds of eternal hope were planted in these young lives through this unforgettable experience! Pleas view a video link below to our latest May camp, with children from 8 – 11 years of age, done with our ministry partner Camp Roblealto. The group is from the highly at-risk community of Los Cuadros de Guadalupe (Outside of San Jose -The capital). Seeds were planted that we hope and pray will take root and continue to grow within each person that participated! Coming Soon! April 2024!
Gracia Missions and team will be running a 3-day camp with our partner Camp Roblealto in Costa Rica this month of April. We will be working with foster children, re-united with their biological parents as a Family Camp. The Family Camp was created during pandemic out of necessity, due to government restricions This camp will be the first Family Camp since the height of the pandemic. Prayers are very welcome! Beginning January 1, 2022, our partner camps and ministries in Costa Rica have re-opened to full capacity! Our partner ministry Camp Roblealto was able to run a full month of summer-camps in the month of January. Gracias Missions hosted two Hope Project camps in February, first for kids 9-11 and then youth 13-16. COVID 19 Response - 2021
Gracia Mission and our partner ministries have not been immune to the COVID-19 crisis. It's a time for prayer and trust that God has a plan for the future of Christian Camping in Latin America. Gracia Missions has been in regular contact with our partner ministries, who are also feeling the effects of shut-down orders. We were able to re-open programs with our partner ministries at 40% capacity in January 2021! We hope this will increase before the end of the year. Blessings and stay safe and well! December - 2020
Partner Community Guarari - Fire Our partner ministry, Smiles With Hope, is facing the aftermath of a devastating fire that swept through the community of Guarari, Costa Rica. Over 150 families lost their minimal homes and belongings. Thanks to God that no lives were lost. This is the largest at-risk community in Costa Rica and one we have worked with for almost 8 years through the Hope Project.
